Prayer~PotÔ
by PoeticEarth Ltd
‘Let the beauty of the earth be reborn in the fire’
Perfect Christening gifts only £35 each, decorated with beautiful crystals

An original concept bringing together traditions from the ancient practices of hanging Tibetan prayer flags where silent prayers are blessings spoken on the breath of nature, and the Shamanic practice of expelling spiritual vibrations into the earth have been combined to create this sacred vessel.
Hang the Prayer~Pot in a calm and reflective area within your home. This sacred vessel can be cupped between the hands and your prayers, wishes and affirmations whispered within or written down and placed inside. Prayers become absorbed into the porous body of the vessel and in turn are offered up to the universe.
Raku fired ceramics incorporate all five Tibetan elements in their making, Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Space.
Due to the unique way in which each piece is fired to leave the body porous, they are neither frost proof or suitable for containing liquids. Each unique piece combines the simplicity of nature with the primitive desire to adorn and evokes a narration within us of personal journeys. Prayer Pots can be used during;

My love of nature and the elements have been the inspiration for my ceramics both consciously and unconsciously since childhood.
The damp, mossy woodlands and green rolling countryside of my native Wiltshire throw up a variety of ‘treasures’; rusty tins, feathers, stones, leaves and lichen covered sticks that act as a stimulus for me and often become part of my ceramics, either literally or used as combustible material during firing.
My ceramic pieces are Raku fired outside at my studio in Corsham, Wiltshire. Raku firing is spontaneous and exciting, combining all the elements to produce a unique ceramic piece; the clay being dug from the earth and metal oxides embedded or rubbed over the surface to add colour. Firstly the piece is placed into fire and then plunged into combustible sawdust; as the air becomes drawn from the pot, water is thrown over to make the colours dance across its surface. It has the ability to excite and also resonate with the inner primal emotions of working with the elements. My interest in Buddhist and Bon Shaman practices are evident in my Prayer Pots.
